Matt Welch
Based in Portland, Maine, Matt Welch serves as the Team and Communications Lead at Days Away in Portland, Maine, where he focuses on fostering genuine collaboration and supporting internal teams. His approach is shaped by a steady career in the CPG industry, including his time as a National Sales Manager and as an independent consultant at Matt Welch Consulting.
Beyond his primary role, Matt applies a strategic mindset to his work as a real estate investor, drawing on the same growth principles he developed in the corporate world. Originally from Massachusetts, Matt’s life is centered around his wife, Brittany, and their three children. Whether he’s in the office or on the sidelines coaching youth sports, he is committed to being an active, supportive member of his local community.
Steve Kierstead
A Falmouth, Maine resident, Steve Kierstead leads the Finance department at Days Away, bringing decades of executive leadership and fiscal expertise to the team. Steve’s professional foundation was built over 20 years in the brewing industry, most notably serving as the Chief Commercial Officer of Barrel One Collective, where he navigated the complexities of high-level operations and strategic scaling. A local through and through, he grew up on Portland’s historic Munjoy Hill and remains deeply connected to his coastal roots. When he isn’t managing the books, Steve is a devoted husband to his wife, Katie, and a proud father of two children.
Tyler Weidner
Tyler Weidner is based in Stockton Springs, Maine, where he oversees operations at Days Away and co-owns Steamboat Wharf Cabins with his wife. Originally from Corry, Pennsylvania, he’s a builder at heart who likes to be creative and hands-on. As a husband and father of two, he loves creating places where families can relax, gather, and make great memories.
